He is The One and Only

"We are pleased to offer you admission to ****** University as an undergraduate in the College of Consumer & Family Science, with a major in Dietetics for the session beginning August 23, 2010."

Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is!
(36:82)

Verily, He is the All-Mighty, and He is the Only one who's capable of making things to happen.

And He giveth you of all that ye ask for. But if ye count the favors of God, never will ye be able to number them...
(14:32)

True indeed, Ya ALLAH. May I become a grateful servant to You as long as I am still breathing in this world.
Alhamdulillah,alhamdulillah,alhamdulillah. Hamdalah...=)

WOW

I just can't believe that it will go to that extent.

Be strong, my friend.

Just remember that,

O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) God, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly.   (47:7)

....and be patient and persevering: For Allah is with those who patiently persevere. (8:46)

"Nilai UKHWAH itu terlalu agung untuk disingkirkan dalam hidup manusia.
Dalam TAWA ada DUKA, dalam BENCI terselit KASIH SAYANG yang ABADI,
keindahan dalam PERHUBUNGAN sukar untuk digambarkan,
walau kadangkala terjadi SENGKETA,TANGIS dan TAWA.
Kerana tidak semua insan dapat memahami erti PERSAUDARAAN.
Jika ku masih punya waktu, inginku jadi SAHABATmu buat SELAMANYA."

And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth God make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.

*copied these from someone's blog.not in the mood to translate them.*

These are the 10 muwasafat in tarbiyyah. Note the highlighted words because that's our focus today. We know that ALLAH creates us in this world not for nothing, but with purposes(please refer to 2:30 and 51:56). Now, in order to accomplish our purposes, we need to be fit and healthy, right?

We also do know that our bodies are one of the blessings from ALLAH. One of the ways to be thankful to Him is to eat healthily. When I write/type healthily, I mean, HALAL and NUTRITIOUS food. Also, keep in mind that NUTRITIOUS food do not necessarily refer to fruits and vegetable because you can eat rice with various lauk-pauk and still claim it as healthy.

don't we just look suspiciously nutritious?

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Remember when I wrote in my previous post that I hate the word diet? Well, I take it back. Dieting doesn't mean you have to eat so little till it leaves you feeling hungry at the end of the day. Diet means you plan your meal plan in such a way that it benefits your body. You might be asking,"How to diet in such a way?".
Well, well, well, it is time for you guys to meet Mr Calorie.

Food calorie.(It haunts my mind almost every day, since the day my patient and I discovered about the existence of 'em on the net). Food calories are somewhat like energy contained in the food which is used for our metabolic activities in our bodies. One interesting fact about calories; calories not only count, they are the bottom line when it comes to fat loss. If you are eating more calories than you expend, you simply will not lose fat, no matter what type of foods or food combinations you eat.

Sure enough, when I get to know about something interesting, I'll try my best to understand about it better by stalking surfing the net on it. And so, I found a link on how to calculate your basal metabolic rate. For your information, the basal metabolic rate is the key to understand your
calorie' s consumption per day. Basal metabolic rate is defined as the minimum calorific requirement needed to sustain life in a resting individual. BMR is the largest factor in determining overall metabolic rate and how many calories you need to maintain, lose or gain weight.

By knowing your basal metabolic rate, you get to know how much calorie you need per day; you can plan your diet according to your basal metabolic rate. Here's the formula to calculate your BMR,

Men: BMR = 66 + (13.7 X wt in kg) + (5 X ht in cm) - (6.8 X age in years)
Women: BMR = 655 + (9.6 X wt in kg) + (1.8 X ht in cm) - (4.7 X age in years)
Note: 1 inch = 2.54 cm.
1 kilogram = 2.2 lbs.

Now that you know your BMR, multiply your BMR with your activity multiplier from the chart below:

Activity Multiplier
Sedentary = BMR X 1.2 (little or no exercise, desk job)
Lightly active = BMR X 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/wk)
Mod. active = BMR X 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/wk)
Very active = BMR X 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/wk)
Extr. active = BMR X 1.9 (hard daily exercise/sports & physical job or 2X day training, i.e marathon, contest etc.)
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Ain't it interesting? Yes, I know. It is soooo interesting that it terrifies you whether you're eating the right food or not. Frankly speaking, I don't like planning my meals at all. I just want to eat whatever food that I can eat. But, after trying to eat with the meal plan that I had planned earlier with my patient, I feel a lil bit healthier.

To be health-conscious(even for a while) proves to be such a wonderful experience for me.Heh. I don't know about my patient, but I hope my patient feels the same. The moment you know of the calories that your body needs, you will feel kind of relieved. Hmmm...maybe that's just me.

For those who don't know, this is exactly how calorie works.

Inshallah...with a healthier body, we can perform our ibadah to ALLAH in a better way. And, may our da'wa and tarbiyyah keep on going with this blessing that He's giving to us.

p/s : CONGRATULATION to my patient for losing your weight(though I don't really play a big part in it). Keep it going, my patient!!Jangan lupa. Istiqamah itu penting...=)

p/p/s : Dr Zoi, please verify the validity of the information that I've displayed in this post, thank you...=D

p/p/s : Here's a good link to know your calorie intake.
